Devon Oil Collective information:

Dear Parish Council

DEVON OIL COLLECTIVE Did you know that over 70% of the households in your parish are off the main gas network? Many of those homeowners will be using oil to heat their property, and this is widely known to be the most expensive way to heat your home.  But many of us have no choice! Many families will struggle to heat their homes this year and fuel poverty is becoming a major issue in Devon. We would like your help with promoting the Devon Oil Collective in your parish.  The Devon Oil Collective is a community based, countywide bulk buying scheme.  The scheme is run by the Community Council of Devon and supported by Devon County Council. The main aim of our scheme is to reduce the costs of domestic heating oil for homeowners.  We will do this by collating orders from across the county, negotiate directly with suppliers to find the best possible price and pass those savings onto the homeowners.  With such a high number of households across Devon off the gas network, there is huge potential bulk buying power.   But we need your help in promoting the scheme in your parish.  The more people we have ordering through us the greater our bulk buying power and the greater savings which can be made for them. Together we can tackle fuel poverty head on! We can provide you with posters to put on notice boards (see attached) or provide articles/adverts to place in your local newsletter.   For further information about the scheme see our website or call 01392 248919 Kind regards
